Las Vegas World Market

So last week I had to sneak away to Las Vegas for a day to go to the furniture show.  I had some ordering to do and a few projects to hunt for.  There were some great new pieces so it was worth while.

Love these new hanging lights... must find a spot to use them.  They are made here in California by hand!

Perfect art for one of my projects!!  It is so nice to find something that works so well!

Sorry for the blurry photo (I was low on batteries) but this table is great because it is taller than your average barrel style table.  Perfect for a side table.

I love the chests with the mirror inserts.

I ordered some of these pillows for jobs and a few for my son's bedroom.

 They are perfect in Orange and Grey!

Apparently lighting in multiples was the thing to do (or maybe it is just one of my favorites).  I love love this.

These are so cool as a low profile dining chair for a different look.  

 

It was a quick trip but I found what I needed and had a little time to shop in the hotel which was nice.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Amanda Burdge Nashville Designer on shopping in Vegas

One of my favorite things to do in Las Vegas is walk through all the casinos and shops to see and experience good design. Everything in Vegas is big, extravagant, decadent and over the top! This is a small clothing store in the Venetian Hotel. Their chandelier spanned the entire length of the store and exploded into a large diameter over the mannequins. What an eye popping display, and everyone who walked by noticed the sparkle!

Globalshop 2009 by Nashville Designer Amanda Burdge

Globalshop was a bit of a disappointment this year. The displays were great but fewer than normal. The discussion on everyones tongues was the economy. Many manufacturers did smaller displays and most did not produce the eye candy like they had in past shows. Despite a smaller show and a lot less bling than normal, I did enjoy the spirit of the exhibitors and attendees. All were filled with excitement for the upcoming year; or maybe it was the fact that we were in Las Vegas the city filled with hope anf faith. And if you leave Vegas without either it doesnt matter, because what happens here stays here, and then you go home.
